in july, 2006, i was traveling across america, seeing some people and missing others, when i first watched stephen king's "nightmares and dreamscapes".
that's over three years ago, now.
three year's and i'm watching it now, here, back in australia.
they're showing it at a rate of one episode a week, on the digital channel "go."
three years and it's never played on any cable channel here before. it's never been available on dvd. and it was bloody well filmed here...
i suppose, people should be grateful that it's just getting a late night time slot on "go" and not being buried in the 3am time slot on regular "nine".
but i still wonder which would get them more viewership, at this point....
i suppose, people would have enough time to know to get a set-top box if they wanted to watch it, right? well, they would if they had one to see it being advertised on channel go and in the bottom small print section of the tv guide....
still no cross station promotion. i remain amazed at how slow they remain on the uptake.

Watched Avatar today however the movie I saw was about a man who loved a duck. Let me explain:
**SPOILER ALERT: The below rant may contain enough detail to give away the alleged plot**
Lets say hypothetically I had a machine that could turn you into a duck and back. I want to send you into the duck village to learn their ways. I have already taught some ducks to speak English so you will be able to communicate with them.
Now, while you are in duck form, you fall in love with another duck. This is a problem as I had really turned you into a duck to be a spy for me as I am ruthlessly after their golden egg (they stole it from a goose). Needless to say a war breaks out between humans and ducks.
As a result, I turn you back into a human and your lover duck sees you. However you both still profess your love for each other and decide that through the power of the duck-gods you shall become a duck permanently. You win the war and the ducks are saved. You live happily ever after.
None of this changes the fact that your a human that fell in love with a duck. If you don't understand what all this means, go see Avatar and remember the ducks
